ABOUT US
Central Texas Feline Rescue is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, all donations not for goods or services are tax-deductible. We are an all-volunteer TNRM rescue group. We Trap, Neuter (or spay) Release and manage cats in feral colonies in the Austin/Round Rock area, and then we maintain them through feeding and care. We are involved because we care about bettering the lives of cats, including those that are homeless and not socialized to humans. There is no such thing as a wild domestic feline. All feral cats were once a person's pet or are the descendants of someone's pet, and therefore, are the responsibility of people.

We are a passionate and compassionate organization doing the work that many may not understand, but it is our work that reduces the intake numbers at area shelters, it is our work that prevents needless births, it is our work that prevents suffering and it is our work that makes a difference in the lives of community cats. We ask for your support, your donations to help us continue doing what we do! Central Texas Feline Rescue continues to grow but in order to reach the number of cats that need our assistance, we require the support of the community.

TRAP, NEUTER & RETURN PROGRAM
Trap, Neuter, and Return (TNR) is the only humane and effective means to control the feline population. Since 2008 our organization has been a leader in sterilizing, vaccinating and returning cats to their environment in the central Texas area. We continue to grow and impact approximately 20% more cats each year.
We have historically utilized the Austin Humane Society and its free spay/neuter program but effective January 1, 2016, the program is no longer a free resource and each spay or neuter now costs $20 each. For the hundreds we trap and sterilize each year, that expense adds up to thousands.
In addition, the ill or injured cats that we often come across during our trapping efforts require veterinary care. The medical and surgical costs add up to thousands of dollars every year but are part of the responsible work of our TNR program.
In addition, we feed hundreds of cats each day. Rain or shine, they are waiting for us! Our costs to keep the kitty cupboard full also reaches into the thousands each year. The cats do not understand budgets, they only understand that they are hungry. Our volunteers go out daily and feed every colony in what amounts to 135-145 cats per day fulfilling their most basic needs.

TESTIMONIALS
Elizabeth was extremely helpful in getting me set up to trap the feral cat colony in my neighborhood. She graciously drove across town to help, met me halfway multiple times while showing me the ropes. She even donated several feeders. I can't say enough good things about her and her organization. She has a huge heart!" - From Sarah Buckner Duval |
CTFR saved us from a situation that had no apparent solution. We had a population of feral cats on our property that was sure to grow in number, but we could find no organization that would take them for adoption. Putting them down was not an option for us. CTFR helped us trap, spay and neuter, vaccinate and recover them and we are so grateful to CTFR for helping us". - From Greg Whitfield |
They are so helpful with donations of feeding stations. For a rural town that needs those stations. Central Texas Feline Rescues does so much for the cats. Very thankful for their work and kindness. Thank you for everything! You're an amazing group." - From Sandy Dearinger Waters |
Opal and Whiskers = Both kitties were rescued together by Central Texas Feline Rescue. Thank you Central Texas Feline Rescue and Elizabeth Brumbaugh for working so hard to get these two kitties into better shape. We all appreciate how much effort & caring went into taking care of these two kitties." - From Eva D McGaughey |
Have noticed some feral cats roaming our neighborhood. After some research, I came across Central TX Feline Rescue online and found they had a lot of resources and tips. I emailed Elizabeth, the founder, and she let me know that not only would they be able to get the cats neutered and spayed, but they could also provide a volunteer trapper. Very responsive, very nice going above and beyond to help these cats. " From Sara. |
They are awesome. They rescue a lot of cats from PVAC and I truly appreciate that. otherwise these cats would be dead. thank you so much." - From Tammy T. |
